As well as working on Lydra, I work for The Clothing Exchange which is an initiative that promotes swapping clothes rather then throwing them away. I had a lovely retreat to Bellingen in Northern NSW in my June winter break. I spent the week relaxing, soaking up the sun, going on walks in the rainforest and conversing with the locals.

A Fashion Parade with a difference!

As part of the Fashion Gala 2010 this year I was able to enter in some of my lovely fashion outfits. I only decided 3 weeks prior that I would enter this event. With no ideas, no dresses, no models, I was put to the test to see what I could invent and put together in a short space of time.

Below are the makings of the outfits, they were based on emotions, explosive thoughts, details, geometric shapes and bursting with colour.

In the making...

Long time between posting!

Well I have lost sight of my blog lately and have decided to get back on the blog bandwagon. What has happenend in the last year?

Where to start?

In a nutshell Lydra has taken off, with lots of lovely new products such as coin purses, metal clutches, travel wallets, passport covers and large clutches. A great website (www.lydra.com.au) and many interstate shops on board. After winning the RMIT Business Plan Competition- Portmans Fashion and Textile prize it was evident that a little bit of hardwork can go a long way.

With the $5,000 going towards a new industrial sewing machine, a laptop, a digital camera and the website. Lydra was well setup! I have also been in the Fashion Gala, started making millinery and am to be in Marie Claire soon!
